About Music Waves

Founded in 1991, Music Waves was established with the goal to provide a platform to budding Punjabi singers. The company promoted and distributed albums of many artists who went to achieve stardom. Over the years Music Waves has built an impressive catalogue ranging from many all-time Bhangra favorites to ghazals and devotional albums. Music Waves team soon began to realize that to promote the talent the company needed to do more than just music distribution and thus began an era of expansion. The company ventured in to organizing concerts for its artists.

This was followed by undertaking to produce a Canada-wide TV show, Des Pardes, which went on to become one of the most popular Punjabi language TV program in Canada and continues to enjoy that status till date.

With every bit of success, the appetite to explore more avenues for promoting talent grew stronger and stronger. While people has been listening to songs for years, the mid-nineties made music from private albums a thing to be watched by way of music videos. The way people enjoyed their music was changing and Music Wave’s talented team was up for the challenge. The company produced many popular music videos and continues to do it.

In 2003, the company added another feather to its cap as it forayed into film distribution. Music Waves went on to distribute many successful films in Canada and overseas. After having gained valuable experience in music distribution, TV production and film distribution, Music Waves had built a dedicated team of talented individuals and they were ready to give a new dimension to the company – it was time to produce a movie. In 2009, the Music Waves team came out with the movie ‘Jag Jeondeyan De Mele’ which was well-received all over the world. The company distributed the movie and it’s music in Canada as well as abroad.

Over the years the company has transformed itself into a well-rounded production and distribution house. Music Waves attributes its success to its team members which include visionary entrepreneurs, skillful cinematographers, talented writers, brilliant photographers and artistic graphic designers. The team members are not just employees but are members of a family – the Music Waves family.
